Privacy policy
What ASC Forecasts records about you and how we use it.
Last updated: 2 October 2026.
Who we are
ASC Forecasts is operated by Dr Nakita Singh, the data controller for personal information used to run this website and provide customer access. Our website is ascforecasts.com. For privacy questions or requests, use the email address on our Contact page.
The short version
We do not use analytics, advertising or behavioural tracking. Reading the free England figures does not create a customer account or an individual usage profile. Essential website functions and hosting or security services may nevertheless process technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
Free downloads
When someone downloads the England data, we add one to a counter for that file and that day. The download-count record contains only a file, a date and a number. It does not contain a name, email address or IP address, or an identifier linking downloads to an individual. This is separate from any technical server or security logs.
If you buy access
Purchasing creates an account so we can provide your access. We keep your name, email address, billing address, order and payment records, and access details. We also collect your organisation, its type and your intended use of the forecasts through the checkout questions.
The checkout answers help us understand who the forecasts reach and meet research-funding reporting requirements. Please avoid including sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else.
Card details are entered directly with Stripe. We do not store your full card number or security code in our WordPress account or order records. Stripe processes the payment; we receive its status and relevant transaction information to administer orders and refunds. See Stripe’s privacy policy .
Feedback and enquiries
If you use the feedback panel, we keep your message, the page it relates to and your email address if you provide one. Leaving the email field blank means no email address is recorded with that feedback. However, your message could identify you if you include personal details. Contact enquiries contain the information you choose to send us.
Why we use personal information
- Contract: to create accounts, process purchases, provide access and handle order-related support and refunds.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the website secure, respond to other enquiries, improve the service through feedback and evaluate its reach for research-funding reporting.
- Legal obligations: to retain required accounting records and comply with applicable law.
- Consent: where required for optional cookies or other optional processing. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Required account and payment fields are needed to provide the purchase service. Please complete the checkout questions to help us understand who the forecasts reach and support applications for further research funding. We anonymise your answers before using them in reports or funding applications.
Cookies
Cookies may be needed for login, customer sessions, shopping baskets, checkout and security. These functional cookies are different from advertising or behavioural tracking. Where a technology requires consent, we ask before using it.
You can manage cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login or checkout from working.
How long information is kept
- Download counts: indefinitely, because the count records contain no personal identifiers.
- Account and order records: seven years, under our retention policy, for administration, financial records and resolving disputes.
- Feedback: until it has been read and acted on, and no longer than two years.
Relevant records may be kept longer where required by law or for an ongoing dispute. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised. Copies in backups are removed through the backup retention cycle.
Who can access information
We do not sell personal information. Authorised administrators and necessary service providers may access it to operate the website, host and back up its records, deliver emails, protect the service and process payments. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
Stripe handles information under its own privacy policy and may act as a processor or an independent controller depending on the activity.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy of certain information. We may need to retain some records to meet legal obligations.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also withdraw consent where we rely on it.
Contact us using the address on the Contact page. We normally respond within one month. We may need to verify your identity; if a legally permitted extension applies, we will explain why.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ . We would also welcome the chance to resolve your concern directly.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our data practices change. The latest version is identified by the update date above.
