Data ownership and licensing
ASC Forecasts brings together government statistics and original research to help people explore the future of adult social care. This page explains who owns the material and how you can use it.
Our original material
ASC Forecasts is owned by Dr Nakita Singh. We retain the rights we hold in our original website content, charts, explanatory material and forecast products. These forecasts are generated through our research and analysis of government data.
Our permissions and any agreed customer licence govern reuse of these original materials. They do not claim exclusive ownership of the government statistics used to produce them, or copyright in every individual number.
The government source data
The website uses published data from NHS England, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department for Education. The government source information remains subject to its applicable Open Government Licence.
The OGL allows copying, adaptation, redistribution and commercial use, subject to its conditions, including attribution. Nothing on this page removes those rights, including where source information appears alongside our forecasts. Using OGL data does not automatically place all our original forecast materials under that licence.
Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Any specific attribution required by the source provider must also be retained.

Research, planning and selected extracts
Unless a separate licence agreed with you specifies otherwise, you may:
- Use material you have lawfully accessed for your own research, analysis and planning, including internal commercial planning.
- Quote occasional selected forecast figures or reproduce selected charts in reports and presentations, with clear attribution.
- Create charts from selected forecast figures for those purposes, identifying any additional calculations as your own.
This permission covers limited extracts that do not collectively reproduce the forecast dataset or provide an alternative forecast access service. Account access remains subject to your agreed subscription terms.
Commercial platforms and redistribution
Please obtain written permission before integrating our forecast materials into another website, dashboard, app or customer-facing data service, whether that service is free or paid.
Separate permission is also needed to resell or redistribute our forecast datasets, supply downloadable forecast tables, offer API access, or publish repeated extracts that collectively reproduce them. Purchasing access alone does not grant those additional rights.
These restrictions concern our forecast materials. They do not restrict reuse of government source information under the OGL, statutory exceptions, or rights already granted through another valid licence.
How to credit ASC Forecasts
Place the credit beside the chart or extract where practical. Include a link to this website and the forecast version or release date.

If you create the chart or calculate additional results, add: “Chart and additional calculations by [your organisation].”
Retain any government source attribution supplied with the material. Where several source credits are needed, you may link to a page containing them, in accordance with the applicable source licence.
Presenting the forecasts accurately
Identify forecasts as estimates, distinguish them from recorded data and state the relevant years, geographical area and units. Retain relevant uncertainty information or clearly link to it. Do not imply that a forecast is a guaranteed outcome.
The welfare indicators describe different, potentially overlapping groups. They should not be added together as a total population. Forecasts should be considered alongside local knowledge and other evidence.
Images, logos and other third party material
Artwork, photographs, logos and other third party material may have separate owners and licensing conditions. Follow any specific credit or licence shown with that material. Our forecast permissions do not grant permission to reuse those items or imply endorsement by ASC Forecasts, the University of Bristol, NIHR or government data providers.
Request permission or discuss a licence
We welcome enquiries about commercial display and collaboration. Tell us which indicators, areas and years you need, where they will appear, who will access them and whether users will be able to download data.
Contact ASC Forecasts to discuss permission. Any separate licence agreed with you governs your use of our original materials where it differs from this page; it does not override the government source licences.
