What this website records about you, and what it does not.

The short version

If you only read the free England figures, nothing about you is recorded at all. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind on this site.

Free downloads

When someone downloads the England data we add one to a counter for that file and that day. That is the whole record: a file, a date and a number. No name, no email address, no IP address, nothing that could identify you or link one download to another.

If you buy access

Buying creates an account, because what you buy is yours to keep and has to belong to someone. We keep your name, email address, billing address, and the three answers you give at checkout: your organisation, what kind of organisation it is, and how you intend to use the forecasts. Those three are used to understand who the forecasts reach, which is a condition of the research funding.

Card details never reach this website. Payment is handled by Stripe, who receive your card number directly; we are told only whether the payment succeeded.

Feedback

If you use the feedback panel we keep what you wrote, which page you were on, and your email address if you chose to give one. Leave the email box empty and there is nothing in the record that identifies you.

How long any of it is kept

Download counts are kept indefinitely; they are just numbers. Account and order records are kept for seven years, which is what tax rules require of any sale. Feedback is kept until it has been read and acted on, and no longer than two years.

Who else sees it

Nobody. It is not sold, not shared, and not sent anywhere except Stripe, and only what Stripe needs to take the payment.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address on the Contact page and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
